We are in the process (about half/half mix currently) of switching from Blue Buffalo Large Breed Puppy food to this, and we have already seen very positive results! My dog’s energy level is high, but most importantly, as some other comments have mentioned, my dogs stool has gotten smaller, much more firm, and he is more regular. This was an area of concern for us, and I believe switching to Royal Canin has helped. He enjoys the taste just as much as well, although he is not a picky eater.
Also – Don’t be worried by the bad reviews based on “meat byproduct.” The AKC says, “Quality animal byproducts are also nutritious. These include organs and entrails, which often contain more nutrients than the muscle meat consumed by humans. Regulated byproducts do not include hooves, hair, floor sweepings, intestinal contents, or manure.”

Our Golden pup didn’t seem to be doing that well on the high-quality food that the breeder recommended. We switched his food to Royal Canin Golden Retriever Puppy food and he has thrived! His coat changed in about a week to a beautiful soft coat. He put on weight quickly.
I would like to challenge the negative posts that you see here on Amazon. By-product isn’t bad. It’s the really high-nutrition meat, heart, liver, lungs. Watch out for marketing saying stay away from by-product.

Human nutrition is not the same as canine nutrition. Grains aren’t bad for dogs as long as they are their for nutrition not filler. Royal Canin grinds the corn to eliminate any reaction to the hull. The marketing is so strong that grains are bad. That mean it is true.

What I expected from the brand

Can’t recommend this enough to hesitant parents of golden retrievers. After being concerned with what our golden puppy eats, we tried him out on several organic, grain free puppy feeds. He didn’t enjoy them very much and would barely finish his food each day. After our vet told us grain free diets can develop weak hearts for Golden’s, we made the switch.
Reading the bold claims this company makes for their food, I was intrigued. How could they really make the kibbles tailored to their facial structure?
Not sure if it’s the softer kibbles or the design claim but our dog seriously loves this stuff. We feed him in accordance with the food labels instructions and he absolutely devours the bowl and even continues to lick it clean well after it’s gone.

Our new puppy was not eating very well when we got her. We were sent home with a different type of food that she struggled to eat. We had to put baby food on it for her to eat. While switching to Royal Canin she would only eat the new food pieces and leave the old. Once we switched to 100% Royal Canin we had to buy one of those bowls that slows down how fast they eat, she was scarfing down the food like nothing.

Highly recommended this pet food,,,, when bathing the dog does not give off an unpleasant smell and completely changes the brightness of the hair, (I DON’T know if it is related to food). I am totally satisfied with the brand, it’s a bit expensive, but it’s worth it for the care of my pet

I am on the subscribe & save for the Golden Retriever Puppy kibbles; my puppy has been eating them for about 4 months now and has always loved them and never made a fuss. This month’s shipment came in fine, the packaging was fine and expiration date was 2022, but the kibbles looked smaller and squarier than the usual rounded kibbles. The problem is that my puppy does not like these specific kibbles. She gets really excited during meal time when she sees her bowl and is very excited up until when she starts eating, she takes a few bites and then stops eating because she does not enjoy them. This is her second day eating the kibbles from this shipment and she cannot even finish her meals. She is a food crazy puppy so its very odd for her to reject food like that. Tonight I tried a kibble to see what the deal was and it tasted bitter. I tried to do a refund or exchange, but apparently the seller does not allow for that, so I am writing this review in hopes that the seller can help me resolve this issue. If my puppy keeps rejecting her food I will stop purchasing from this seller and buy straight from the pet store.

It’s amazing ! I have my doodle from last 3 months puppy ! He love his food ! It’s amazing , the coat is shined and it’s really healthy ! I know it’s worth the money ! I just ordered the new bag for 3-4 months puppy took 2.5 – 3 months for this bag. It’s amazing just low key is it’s expensive! Other than that I love it !

My puppy has been eating this brand for months. His coat is beautiful and he is a happy boy.

This is sooo expensive but we got it because the breeder recommended it. Puppy hasn’t seemed to love it- she takes a bit to finish a meal but maybe that’s just her? I’m used to dogs that attack any and all food so I’m not sure if it’s her breed or the food, she does go after treats like nobody’s business!
