Royal Canin Giant Junior Dry Dog Food is tailor-made for puppies between 8 and 18-24 months with an expected adult weight of over 100 lbs. Your giant puppy is destined for big things—and as they grow, they have big nutritional needs. Giant breed dogs have the longest growth period out of other sized dogs—that’s why Royal Canin growth formulas for giant-sized dogs come in two stages: Giant Puppy and Giant Junior. This Giant Junior dry dog food diet is made specifically for that second stage of growth. At around 8 months, they start to fill out their long and lanky body, developing muscles to support their large frame long into adulthood. What you feed them now sets them up for a healthy, happy life as an adult.
Royal Canin Giant Junior is a nutrient-dense diet formulated for your puppy’s healthy growth: Adapted protein levels and added L-carnitine help build strong muscles. Balanced energy content and precise amounts of calcium and phosphorus support healthy bones and joints. Highly digestible proteins and prebiotics promote healthy digestion and optimal stool quality. Key antioxidants and minerals support developing immune systems to help your dog keep growing strong. Transitioning from Royal Canin Giant Puppy to Giant Junior is easy, because both formulas have an exclusive kibble designed specifically for these growing dogs’ large jaws, so they chew their kibble thoroughly. With the targeted nutrition of Royal Canin, your lovable giant can grow up and live their best, most magnificent life.

Summation: Love this food, have fed this to two great danes for two years, quality control is an issue.
Sometimes the kibble comes in a bigger size and then in other bags the kibble is smaller than normal. The bags are sometimes vacuum sealed and sometimes they are not. Safe to say that there are some serious issues with this specific Royal Canin type of food that I have never seen before in any other Royal Canin product/bag of food (we use this brand for the cats too).
I wouldn’t feed anything else to a growing Dane, period. We have tried many, MANY other foods.

We had already tried it with another puppy and it is excellent again. My puppy grows big and strong

This is one of the few puppy foods you can feed to a Dane. We switched our puppy to this around the 9 month old mark and it’s definitely helped him build muscle and weight the correct way. We will switch him to the adult version around 2 as recommended. Great food for giant breeds and their special needs!

I’d actually give this 3.8 stars if I could. After researching pet food I went with Royal Canin for my Saint Bernard pup I got at 8 weeks 18lbs and at 6 months old he is 95 lbs with a beautiful soft coat. To me a negative is the packaging. How can a 30lb bag of dog food made for GIANT breeds be the largest size available. Another negative to me are the ingredients. Not sure how a premium brand can have brewers rice and chicken by product meal as the first 2 ingredients but they seem to formulate their food to the specific breed and my pup is healthy with a soft coat and doesn’t pass a lot of gas so maybe they know what they are doing. I will say my pup enjoyed it more in the beginning and seems to be getting bored with it but I’ll be switching to the junior or another brand in 2 months. Side note my Pomeranian loves getting a few kibbles of it as a treat.

Good dog food for my three dogs. They seem to get all of the nutrients that they need.

My Great Dane pup has the world’s most sensitive stomach and the hills large breed puppy gives him diarrhea, as does every other brand. RC is known for top quality ingredients that produce perfect, healthy stools. I gave it 4 stars for taste because my pup doesn’t seem to love it and 4 stars for price because it’s about $30 more than Hills which is also known for their reliability and ingredients. My pup blows through almost 2.5 bags a month and that gets pricey! But it’s better than having to scrape poop out of the grass and take him to get his anal glands expressed every couple of weeks…which was the case when he was on Hills. Not enough fiber in their formula, maybe? Either way, RC fixed his digestive system right up and he is growing like a champ. We will continue to pay their astronomical prices knowing our pup is happy and healthy.

I have a 17 month old Cane Corso who is the pickiest eater and has always had explosive diarrhoea every week or two weeks without fail. He’s pretty skinny for a Cane Corso as a result of his pickiness. I started him int Diamonds naturals and would just manage his diarrhoea with flagyl once the diarrhoea starts as expected. Decided to try him with Victor and the same thing happened. He would sniff and just move away and diarrhoea was certain. Then I decided to try Royal Canin, and boy what a difference. I noticed immediately that it smelt better/fresher than Diamond and Victor. His appetite automatically increased as a result and he started to consume more food and drink more water, his poop for the first time is really solid and brown as it should be abs hasn’t been that way for many months. I’m incredibly surprised and happy about this and I think with this he will certainly gain some weight in no time and look like a real Corso. I will be sticking to Royal Canin for now as this is the first food my dog really likes.

My 225lb English Mastiff gets diarrhea very easily, and this is the only non-prescription food she can tolerate. The kibbles are a perfect size for her, she LOVES the flavor, and her poop is solid. Big win.

Only food our dog eats! He loves the flavor and the crunch.
